Mrs. Temple's Poppy Seed Vinaigrette Dressing

Ingredients:

¼ cup sugar
1½ tbs. Onion juice
1 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp. Salt
1½ tbs. Poppy seed
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 tsp. dry mustard

Instructions:

1. Mix all ingredients except the oil and poppy seeds in an electric blender until they are well mixed.

2. Add the oil gradually while continuing to blend.

3. Next stir in the poppy seeds and refrigerate.

At the Temple's house you would find this served with romaine and fresh fruit. For eight servings use one grapefruit, two oranges and one avocado, tossed with dressing.

Romaine, Grapefruit & Toasted Almond Salad

On the train, we serve Mrs. Temples dressing over a bed of crisp romaine tossed and topped with grapefruit and toasted sliced almonds. We garnish it with sweet and sour red onions (fresh sliced onions marinated in red wine vinegar and honey).
