Tacoma

Conveniently located between Seattle and Olympia, Tacoma is the 2nd largest city in the Puget Sound area and the third largest in the state. Neighboring the Commencement Bay, Tacoma was chosen as the site of the western terminus of the Northern Pacific Railroad in the late 1800s. Named the “City of Destiny,” the Port of Tacoma connects Commencement Bay with the Tacoma rail. The city's motto aptly describes Tacoma --“when rails meet sails.”

Tacoma is experiencing a resurgence in the downtown core with the University of Washington, Tacoma campus; Tacoma Link, the first modern electric rail service in Washington; updated art museums; restored Thea Foss Waterway; and a plethora of new restaurants, hotels, and condominiums.

Frieghthouse Square

Historic Freighthouse Square was build in 1909, originally servicing the western most freight terminus for the Milwaukee Railroad. Today it is filled with wonderfully eclectic shopping and dining options. Explore the international food court for distinctive dining options. The Freighthouse Square tenants invite you to “step out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary.”

Utilizing an attached Exhibition Hall, the Tacoma Dome hosts over 300 days of events including major concerts, high school sports family shows, tradeshows, and other arena events.
